She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joseph Vaccaro parents, Joseph and Carrie Mulay Cusumano and infant daughter, Annette Vaccaro. Josephine Ann Marie "JoAnn" Vaccaro - Pueblo Chieftain - MaJosephine Ann Marie “JoAnn” Vaccaro, born March 1, 1937, in Pueblo, died March 18, 2016, in Broadway, Va. Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery with graveside services conducted by Ft. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, at the Comi Chapel from 3:00 p.m. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Lori Jo, Jon, Terry Rae, Nicky, Steve, So-Mae, Gene, Greg, Bill and Curly and numerous friends. Survivors are daughter, Sharon (Bob) Villani, Littleton, Colorado, son Glen Vaccaro, Trinidad, Colorado, brother John Vaccaro, Surprise, Arizona, brother-in-law Tom Brewis, Hayward, Colorado, grandchildren, Melissa Gill, Vince Villani, Stephanie Villani, great-grandchildren, Griffin Gill, Grayden Gill, Sophia Villani, Rome Villani, and Dior Villani. Preceding him in death are parents, Sophia and Nichola Vaccaro, wife Dorothy Vaccaro, mother and father-in-law, Antonia and Pete Gordon, brother Tony Vaccaro, sisters, Rose Brewis, Mary Vecellio, Joe Pompia, and Pete Gordon Jr. He was a member of the UMWA Local 9856 and a faithful member of Holy Trinity parish where he attended mass regularly. He enjoyed Japanese bonsai gardening, keeping physically fit by working out, and playing poker. He was a coal miner for 51 years having worked in area mines including the Morley and Allen Mines. He proudly served his country during the Korean conflict in the United States Army from 1950-1952 when he received his honorable discharge as a Sergeant. On November 25, 1950, Joe was United in marriage to Dorothy Marie Gordon at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinidad, Colorado. Joe attended area schools graduating from Trinidad High School in 1943. He was born in Delagua, Colorado on February 23, 1926, the son of Sophia (Rollo) and Nicola Vaccaro. During the long whirlwind of her life, she was a meter maid, a jail matron, a restaurateur, a fundraiser, a dance studio owner, a seamstress, a leader of crafters (the enterprise christened by her husband as “the Dingy Club”), a recipe contributor, an award-winning cook selected as an official Betty Crocker representative, and a beloved 4-H leader known to dozens of youth as “Aunty Dee.” Dolores and her husband, Sam, were known for serving food, family dinners and hosting 4-H meetings in their home.
